DRIFFIELD CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH

Helen Shapiro Gospel Outreach

On Friday 25th September Driffield Congregational Church borrowed the (much bigger) Methodist Church building and hosted the Helen Shapiro Gospel Outreach.

The evening was an outstanding success, more than 500 people filled the Methodist Church and enjoyed an evening of music and challenging speaking.  Helen shared her testimony of how she came to believe in Jesus after being brought up strictly Jewish and of the conflicts this caused her and her family.

She then finished with a powerful gospel challenge to which many responded.

We give thanks to God for this awesome event and also thanks to Ian and Helen Jones and all the other people who helped.

News

New Members

In 2010 we prayed for 10 new people for 2010 and God heard and answered us  Hallelujah!!

We were delighted to welcome into membership 10 new members on Easter Sunday 2011.  The new members were presented with bibles during our special Easter Day celebrations.

We thank God for all the new people he has brought to us and who are continuing to come.

New Windows

In June 2011 we had our front windows replaced with stained effect glass designs.  We used money left to the church by Marion Randall and Frances Bilton who were both much loved Deacons and who both passed away last year.

The windows are inscribed with dedications to these wonderful ladies and are a lasting memory and tribute to them.

The new windows have much improved the church from the outside and inside and let light shine in and our light shine out.

The Harrison Family and HCJB

In August we were privileged to welcome the Harrison Family to take one of our services while they were visiting the country.

The Harrisons work for HCJB missionary projects in Ecuador and they shared with us a presentation about the work which they do.

Our church is supporting them through prayer and finance and they send us regular updates.

We are looking for a forward thinking, bible believing, prayerful, born again Christian to lead us and be our public face.  They must have a vision and desire to take the church forward and have an Evangelical ministry.

If you feel called by God to lead us and you feel that you share our vision and beliefs then please download the document below which tells you more detail about us, our church, our town and the position.
